What is Pilates?

Pilates is a system of exercises designed to improve movement.  This is achieved by improving strength, control, balance and flexibility.

The inventor of Pilates, Joseph Pilates, described the whole body exercises as "control of all muscular movements of the body".

 

Bayside Physiotherapy Clinical Pilates.

At Bayside we offer clinical pilates in small group classes or one on one sessions.  These sessions are run by Samantha Jones, physiotherapist. 

Classes are held on Mondays 5.15pm, Tuesdays 7am and Fridays 11am.

Clinical Pilates Classes.

The Pilates class is about movement improvement.

Working on the principles on core control, core stability and strength, and combining these with movement and flexibility.

If you want to improve performance in your sport or simply improve the way you go about your daily tasks, then the clinical pilates class is for you.

Our classes are different from those in a gym.You wont be a face in the crowd, doing the wrong exercise. The exercises are tailored specifically for the individual. The group size is 6 or less with a trained physiotherapist as the instructor. Health fund rebates are available through our HICAPS machine
